  2. It's interesting that the griots are kind of self employed. They just seem like they started remembering stuff on they own and became workers.

  4. I find it interesting that Ghana was taken over because of its resources; being Gold, Timber and Kola Nuts. These weren't the items I had pictured Ghana being known for or having a large supply.

  5. Could the Griots also be compared to the storyteller historian archetype? I think that in an age without prolific writing, and certainly no computers, Griots could have been humanity's past, and guiding force toward the future. The thinkers and expressive ones that help to guide the everyman. I'm picturing a Griot like "The Giver"
